Monthly Sesshin
Showing up for yourself and others.
Join us as we gather for an evening and full day of zazen practice. The schedule offers an opportunity to drop more deeply into your own body/mind, to clarify and actualize your deepest intention, and to bring consciousness and fresh energy to your life.
What to Expect
The day includes periods of half-hour silent sitting meditation, along with walking meditation, a dharma talk by the Guiding Teacher, and oryoki meals. There will also be an opportunity to meet one-on-one with the teacher.
The most important thing is to show up for yourself and others, to sit down on your cushion or chair and be still, and to give yourself the time and space to feel all that you're feeling in these extraordinary times.
How to participate
Please email us to register; the suggested donation is $50 or whatever you can afford. Please also indicate if you are in need of housing for Saturday night. By request, we will keep ZenZoom open all day on Sunday for those who would like to join us virtually. If so, please make sure to register with us and we ask that you commit to the whole day.
Oryoki Tutorial
The following video showcases Zen Center North Shore’s guiding teacher demonstrating the appropriate way of opening and closing oryoki bowls. This is an important part of monthly sesshin and a wonderful opportunity to engage in ritual and awareness.
